Reality television has turned its competitive gaze to the world of retail with its new show, Window Warriors.
Here, the intensely bloodthirsty and always visually compelling world of retail design and visual merchandising gets its time in the spotlight.
Hosted by actress Garcelle Beauvais, this skill-based competition series will look to marry the worlds of art and commerce through the labours of qualifying window designers. Participants will be challenged to conceive of and create the most impressive retail displays each week.
They will be given access to digital effects, sound technology and appropriate retail merchandise to aid their efforts.
Winners will score a slew of cool booty, including a full-time year-long job at a premiere mall developer, a potentially career-changing opportunity to design a high-profile holiday display at a major American department store, a $100,000 grand prize and a splashy feature in a retail design magazine.
The six-episode series is executive produced by Michael Levitt Productions, and it will be broadcast on the Game Show Network. Still in the early stages of production, the show will likely film this summer or fall and then premiere in late 2016 or early 2017.
