Where Lines Flow Like Wine

De Vinos y Viandas wine shop in Valladolid, Spain, is a stunning celebration of wine culture through architecture. Winner of five prestigious awards including the A’ Design Award (2017-2018) and the EuroShop RetailDesign 2018 Award, this space sets a high bar for retail design.

Designed by Zooco Estudio, the shop elegantly incorporates the fluid forms of winemaking:  barrel shapes, cellar vaults, and bottle silhouettes. This creates a space that feels both modern and timeless.

• The curved wooden framework wraps around the interior.
• The limited material palette, primarily wood, glass, and stone, creates a cohesive, enveloping world dedicated to wine.

• The intersection of lines in multiple directions organically creates functional areas for the counter, tasting table, and exhibition spaces.
• Curved wooden partitions both divide and connect different areas of the shop, maintaining visual continuity.
• Strategic lighting highlights the textural quality of the wood while illuminating the displayed bottles.

• The mirrored surfaces create captivating reflections, multiplying the flowing wooden elements into an immersive experience.
• The polished stone flooring, a direct reference to traditional wine cellars, grounds the design in regional authenticity while honouring Spain’s strong historical bond with wine culture.

• The counter area incorporates the same design language, creating a seamless flow between display and service spaces.
• Each curve and arch is precisely executed through modern production techniques. The space features 15 curved oak boards and 45 straight vertical oak boards.

Just imagine walking through this space, every element purposeful, every curve considered.
